Quartz:

Created from ground natural Quartz crystal mixed with glass and resin epoxy, Quartz Countertops has become a popular alternative to natural stone countertops. Each Quartz brand has different design variations and price structures, but the products are ultimately very similar. Manmade Quartz countertops are impact resistant, non-porous, and etch resistant, but only tolerate heat of up to 295 ̊F. Because Quartz countertops are manmade, the manufacturer can tailor their designs to the current market trends and can imitate natural stone designs. In the previous decade, white stones with gray veins were trending. More recently, variations of browns and golds are being introduced to create a warmer, more inviting living space.

Granite:

As a natural stone option, granite countertops have been a popular choice for over 30 years. Granite offers natural beauty combined with durability to provide a unique stone countertop, available in a variety of colors. Granite is extremely heat tolerant, stain resistant, scratch resistant, and etch resistant. Because granite is a porous product, it will require sealing, which impregnates the stone’s pores and inhibits stain absorption. Sealing your granite countertop is very simple, like cleaning the stone countertop and should be done yearly for most stones. More potent sealers are available to decrease the interval of sealing.

While there are some granite colors that have become a thing of the past, there are still many beautiful colors that are hot and trending. Alaska White, Snowfall, Typhoon Bordeaux, Viscont White, Blue Bahia (an exotic granite!) are just a few that can help bring your kitchen countertops to life!
